Field Engineer
About the job
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, three to five years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three to five years of field-work experience.
- Ability to pass a drug test.
- Ability to work in a team-based environment.
- Review commissioning and warranty paperwork before submission.
- Support unit field installation, commissioning, and warranty periods.
- Resolve field issues through interaction with customers, contractors, and engineering.
- Report nonconformances and field completion status.
- Verify contractors follow Dearing standards during assembly and pre-commissioning.
- Represent Dearing at onsite construction meetings when necessary.
- Report customer and contractor comments to engineering, quality control, energy service, and production.
- Perform unit pre-commissioning checks and final commissioning when needed.
- Assist with quoting and scheduling billable projects outside commissioning in conjunction with production and energy services.
- Recommend process and design improvements to engineering and management.
- Create and maintain detailed unit and project documentation.
- Assist in creating and implementing field-related installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning procedures with engineering and energy service.
- Write job plans and scopes for field-related work.
- Participate in unit test runs in the shop, customer shop inspections, kickoff meetings, project wrap-up meetings, and conference calls when required.
- Establish, develop, and maintain customer, contractor, and vendor relationships.
