About the job

Requirements
  • 3–6 years of experience in product design, with demonstrated focus on complex data or geospatial products.
  • Prior experience in B2B SaaS, climate tech, insurance, infrastructure, or defense sectors.
  • A portfolio that includes shipped map-based or spatial data interfaces.
  • Experience designing for AI-assisted or model-driven products where communicating uncertainty and confidence is part of the UX challenge.
  • Ability to accommodate occasional travel as needed (~10%).
  • Proficiency in Figma, including components and design systems.
  • Familiarity with mapping libraries and geospatial tools.
  • Enough front-end literacy in HTML, CSS, and React to prototype in the browser, inspect implementations, and identify gaps between design and code.
  • Experience conducting user interviews and usability tests and translating qualitative data into design direction.
Responsibilities
  • Craft end-to-end experiences for map-based and AI-assisted features from early-stage concept through production-ready specifications.
  • Translate complex geospatial and AI-driven workflows into intuitive interfaces that make model outputs, confidence levels, and spatial data legible without sacrificing depth.
  • Drive user research and usability testing across core user personas, including analysts, underwriters, and operators, and synthesize insights into design decisions.
  • Partner with engineers and data scientists throughout the build cycle, using front-end literacy to connect design intent and implementation quality.
  • Advance the design system by establishing scalable patterns for geospatial user interfaces, AI explainability, and data visualization.
Desired Qualifications
  • A portfolio demonstrating clear ownership of complex, data-rich features from problem framing through shipped product.
  • Experience designing geospatial or mapping products, including map user interfaces, spatial dashboards, geographic information system workflows, or location-based tools.
  • Experience designing AI-assisted interfaces that communicate model outputs, uncertainty, and recommendations in ways that build user trust.
  • Strong communication skills for articulating design rationale to engineers, product managers, and executive stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and take ownership without waiting for direction.

What believers are saying

  • Neural Earth closed over $9M seed on February 24, 2026, financing expansion.
  • Prometheus launched June 9, 2026, and is already available to enterprise customers.
  • Partnerships with Roosevelt Road Specialty and Orion180 validate paid demand in insurance.

What critics are saying

  • Porter-style competitors like Nearmap, Moody's, and CoreLogic can bundle similar data faster.
  • One weak renewal from Roosevelt Road Specialty or Orion180 would expose customer concentration.
  • If Prometheus misses catastrophe losses, insurers will revert to legacy vendors by 2027.

What makes Neural Earth unique

  • Prometheus unifies satellite, sensor, and parcel data into one risk workflow.
  • GAIA gives underwriters parcel-level answers without technical analysts.
  • Neural Earth targets P&C insurance and real estate with climate-risk intelligence.

Neural Earth launches Prometheus platform to transform property risk decisions for P&C insurance and real estate

Neural Earth has launched Prometheus, a decision intelligence platform designed to help property and casualty insurers and real estate investors assess physical risk in real time. The Miami-based company aims to replace legacy risk workflows that rely on spreadsheets and siloed systems. The platform unifies satellite, aerial, sensor and infrastructure data to provide actionable insights for property-level and portfolio-wide risk assessment. Its proprietary assistant, GAIA, enables non-technical users to analyse complex physical and financial asset data. With insured losses from natural catastrophes now exceeding $100 billion annually in the US, Prometheus addresses the growing challenge of climate risk and capital market exposure. The platform enables underwriting insights at parcel precision and real-time portfolio concentration monitoring, shifting organisations from reactive to proactive risk management.

Neural Earth raises $9.3M oversubscribed seed to scale AI risk intelligence for insurers

Neural Earth has closed a $9.3 million seed round, three times oversubscribed, to scale its AI-powered geospatial risk intelligence platform for property and casualty insurance and real estate. The funding will support hiring, customer expansion and enable the company to begin Series A discussions. The Miami-based startup's platform unifies planetary data through AI and proprietary analytics to help insurers, reinsurers and institutional real estate firms assess climate-driven risks including flood, wind and wildfire. The system combines satellite imagery, environmental sensors and business data to deliver portfolio-level exposure analysis. Strategic investors include executives from insurance carriers, real estate investment firms and technology companies. Neural Earth will use the funding to expand its go-to-market efforts, accelerate product development and scale operations across data science and customer success teams.
