Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Nutritional Sciences is required.
  • Maintain a Massachusetts Dietitian License.
  • Maintain registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Have at least 2 years of related administrative and clinical experience in a health care facility.
  • Have knowledge of growth and development across the life span.
Responsibilities
  • Formulate nutritional care plans for patients and oversee their implementation.
  • Ensure Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics standards of practice are followed and make recommendations to appropriate clinical personnel.
  • Confer with medical and nursing staff regarding patients’ nutritional status and attend related patient care conferences.
  • Conduct nutritional assessments and provide services and discharge planning.
  • Assist in developing and implementing Culinary and Nutritional Department continuous quality improvement activities.
  • Provide nutritional counseling and ongoing evaluations.
  • Conduct educational sessions regarding diets and eating habits.
  • Apply geriatric and rehabilitation knowledge and skills to patient care.
Desired Qualifications
  • Geriatric and rehabilitation experience is preferred.
