About the job

Requirements
  • Proven experience leading a client-facing team in a digital marketing, agency, or professional services environment.
  • Strong working knowledge across search engine optimization, paid search, paid social, and conversion rate optimization.
  • Ability to address performance issues early, give clear feedback, and follow through on agreed actions.
  • A track record of getting outcomes from stakeholders who do not report to you.
  • Ability to distinguish issues to handle independently from those that genuinely require escalation.
  • Ability to investigate issues, establish the facts, and bring a recommendation.
  • Ability to remain calm, credible, and clear when a client is unhappy.
  • Ability to run recurring processes reliably.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the Digital Growth Strategist team day to day through regular one-on-ones, clear performance and communication standards, and actionable feedback.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for process, contractual, Terms of Service, Performance Guarantees, and billing questions, resolving issues where possible and escalating genuinely novel or high-risk matters.
  • Own client escalations end to end by leading internal retention discussions, joining client calls, coordinating fixes, and monitoring subsequent NPS feedback.
  • Host retention meetings, review and approve retention plans, and ensure next steps are documented and completed.
  • Identify patterns behind escalations, churn risk, and team issues, and work with the Head of Digital Growth Strategy to address root causes.
  • Support strategists in diagnosing campaign performance issues by involving search engine optimization, paid search, paid social, and conversion rate optimization specialists as needed.
  • Run the team's operating rhythm, including campaign reviews and cross-department updates.
  • Own team capacity and workload allocation, flagging resourcing risks early.
  • Onboard and train new Digital Growth Strategists and build the team's capability to handle routine issues independently.
  • Identify upsell opportunities in the existing client base and help strategists convert strong performance into expanded scope.
  • Maintain processes and documentation to support staff changeover.
  • Work across departments to remove obstacles affecting the client experience.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience building or formalizing a team support structure in a business that was scaling.
