Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute independent medical strategy and engagement for assigned external medical stakeholders within the territory, coordinating compliantly with Pfizer colleagues.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant therapeutic areas, disease states, and Pfizer medicines, and provide therapeutic-area and product information to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Serve as a conduit and resource for Medical Information and external medical stakeholder insights, providing permitted information and sharing stakeholder viewpoints with Pfizer.
  • Contribute to Medical educational content strategy development and execute aligned field medical tactics.
  • Maintain communication and collaboration among headquarters Medical colleagues, Medical Information, and other Pfizer Field Medical colleagues.
  • Deliver scientific communication through live and virtual presentations, written communication, telephone conversations, and virtual conversations.
  • Incorporate health literacy and cultural awareness principles into Medical communications and deliverables to improve patient care.
  • Conduct activities in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and compliance guidance.
  • Educate external medical stakeholders about patient care gaps, disease states, and guideline-based care to improve patient care.
  • Achieve leadership-defined expectations for the number of external medical stakeholders engaged.
  • Deliver approved medical content about Pfizer medicines and relevant topics in the designated therapeutic area.
  • Provide education on clinical and economic impact through real-world data analyses, pharmacoeconomic analyses, outcomes evaluations, and medical presentations.
  • Provide objective, scientifically supported medical information using pharmacoeconomic models, outcomes tools, educational programs, Health Outcomes Projects and Evaluations, non-interventional studies, and collaborations.
  • Execute mutually beneficial projects, collaborations, strategic medical patient care projects, and non-interventional studies compliantly.
  • Serve as Medical lead for assigned external medical stakeholders by developing and executing Medical account plans, representing Medical Affairs, sharing stakeholder insights, and identifying collaboration opportunities.
  • Engage Quality Improvement Organizations, advocacy groups, coalitions, and medical and healthcare associations to understand population health priorities and identify aligned opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Key Account Managers, Account Directors, PHI, Field Medical, Headquarters Medical, and HEOR colleagues to understand stakeholder outcomes of interest and data analysis needs.
  • Identify and seek medical engagement from priority external medical stakeholder segments in the assigned therapeutic area.
  • Provide truthful, accurate, and scientifically supported information in response to unsolicited medical requests in compliance with Pfizer guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead advisory boards with manager oversight.
  • Field inbound queries from external medical stakeholders through the established triage process.
  • Partner with Vaccines Research & Development and Global Product Development to identify potential sites for Pfizer-sponsored clinical trials, including sites serving under-represented patient populations.
  • Provide Medical support throughout the Investigator Sponsored Research process.
  • Cultivate research and therapeutic-area expertise through familiarity with current congress data and disease-state literature.
  • Provide asset leadership and strong territory leadership.
  • Communicate reactively and proactively with local Patient Advocacy Groups in collaboration with Corporate Affairs and Headquarters Medical Affairs.
  • Deliver insights on local patient organization structures, capabilities, and patient population needs.
  • Serve on Medical, therapeutic-area, and asset cross-functional committees as appropriate.
  • Represent Pfizer Medical Affairs leadership with clinical, professional, and medical associations and societies.
  • Mentor colleagues as an onboarding partner and as an advisory-board and study-lead mentor.
  • Participate in special projects as needed.

  • Familiarity with internal and external standard operating procedures, rules, and regulations governing Pfizer and external medical stakeholder interactions.

  • Experience applying health information technology in clinical, functional, and technical contexts in the United States.

Pfizer and Butterfly Network lead AI healthcare push with revenues up to $63.7B

Pfizer CEO says major headwinds easing as drugmaker cuts $7.2B in costs, eyes oncology pipeline

Pfizer's chief executive Albert Bourla says the pharmaceutical company's major headwinds are easing. Speaking at a recent conference, Bourla identified three challenges facing the drugmaker in 2025: tariffs and drug pricing policies, declining coronavirus product sales, and patent cliffs. The company has addressed tariffs by signing agreements with the US government for reduced medicine prices in exchange for tariff breaks. Pfizer has exceeded Wall Street's earnings-per-share estimates in all 10 of its past quarterly reports, suggesting its coronavirus business no longer significantly impacts performance. However, major patent cliffs loom. Eliquis, which generated $4.6 billion in the first half of the year, could face generic competition by 2028. Cancer treatment Ibrance, with $2.1 billion in first-half revenue, faces US patent expiration in 2027. Pfizer has cut $7.2 billion in costs and expanded its pipeline through acquisitions and internal development, with new products generating $13 billion annually. Medicus Pharma secures Pfizer ADC deal with $2M funding, advances SkinJect for rare cancer treatment

Medicus Pharma has secured a development and licensing agreement with Pfizer for a CD228-targeted antibody-drug conjugate programme focused on solid tumours, including refractory melanoma. Pfizer is providing approximately $2 million in development funding, plus inventory and infrastructure support. CEO Dr Raza Bokhari said the deal allows Medicus to continue from where Pfizer concluded its Phase 1 dose-escalation work, strengthening the company's position in precision oncology. Medicus is also advancing its SkinJect programme for basal cell carcinoma. Final clinical trial results identified the 200-microgram patch as the optimal dose for future studies. The company is preparing for the FDA-approved pivotal SkinJect 005 study whilst recruiting patients. An independent reimbursement analysis suggests SkinJect could achieve reimbursement levels of $25,000 or more per patient.

AbbVie beats Pfizer as top dividend stock with 53-year payout streak and 203% growth

AbbVie offers a smarter long-term dividend investment than Pfizer, despite Pfizer's higher 6.1% yield. AbbVie holds Dividend King status with 53 consecutive years of dividend increases and raised its payout by 5.5% this year to $1.73 per share. Over the past decade, AbbVie increased its dividend by more than 203% compared to Pfizer's 51%. AbbVie's revenue grew 138% during this period, whilst Pfizer's rose just 18%. AbbVie successfully navigated Humira's patent cliff through home-grown immunology drugs Skyrizi and Rinvoq. By 2025, these two drugs generated combined annual sales exceeding $25 billion, replacing Humira's peak revenue and pushing total company revenue to record highs. AbbVie's free-cash-flow dividend payout ratio stands at 65%, lower than Pfizer's 89%.
