Kathy Yang of the Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn) has been named to Fortune's "Most Powerful Women Asia 2026" list for the second time. Oct 12, 2026, 18:47 ET Leadership in the technology sector highlights Asia's impressive strength TAIPEI, October 13, 2026 /PRNewswire/ - In recognition of her responsibility at the intersection of the physical industrial world and the world of AI at the world's largest electronics manufacturer and supplier of AI servers, Kathy Yang of the Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn) (TWSE:2317) has been named for the second time by Fortune to the "Most Powerful Women Asia 2026" ("Most Influential Women in Asia 2026") list. As managing director of global campus operations and head of the AI software business and AI infrastructure at Foxconn, Yang is among 16 honorees from the technology industry, the most represented sector on this year's prestigious list, followed by banking with 14. Her presence reflects the increasingly central role technology plays in Asia's economy, as companies in digital platforms and advanced manufacturing, as well as other technology-driven industries, grow in size and influence. "What stands out most in this year's ranking is how power dynamics in Asia's economy are developing," said Charmian Choo, senior executive for Fortune's Asia list. "We are seeing established leaders continue to shape some of the region's largest companies, while a new generation climbs the career ladder. Particularly notable is the importance of the technology industry, which reflects the sector's growing influence on Asia's economy and shows that women are increasingly taking a leading role in this shift." "Women in leadership positions play an important role in the industrial revolution in AI. The real challenge is not introducing technology, but redesigning workflows, investing in reskilling and helping our employees worldwide, women and men alike, to develop accordingly," said Yang of Foxconn, whose remit covers Foxconn's more than 240 locations in 24 countries. "In five years, the best factories will not simply be the most automated, but those in which people, AI and robots make each other better." Earlier this year, Yang was named by Fortune to its "Most Powerful Women in Business 2026" list. Her work connects Foxconn's global manufacturing capacity, technical expertise and operational know-how with software, data, computing infrastructure and AI. Yang previously served as rotating chairperson of Foxconn and was the first woman in that position. In that role, she focused on strengthening company-wide execution, cross-business coordination and consistent governance at one of the world's largest and most complex industrial conglomerates. She is also a board member of Foxconn Industrial Internet (FII) and chairperson and CEO of JUSDA, two important business units of Foxconn. Information about Fortune MPW Asia can be found here.
