Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
  • Three to five years of operating systems administrative experience is required, including experience with Python, large language models, software development, and model deployment on cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment background check is required.

  • A combination of education and proven experience demonstrating comparable knowledge may be considered.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure coherence across courses by aligning learning objectives, prerequisites, and assessment philosophy; eliminating unnecessary overlap; identifying curricular gaps; and maintaining the curriculum roadmap.
  • Develop detailed course structures, design assignments and projects, develop laboratories and instructional materials, coordinate assessment design, and support online pedagogy for professional learners.
  • Coordinate annual curriculum updates by reviewing advances in the field, incorporating new tools and models, updating laboratories, refreshing case studies, replacing obsolete technologies, and recommending curriculum improvements to Faculty Course Directors.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with CMU Online by coordinating video production, recording schedules, instructional design, accessibility, multimedia development, and Learning Management System organization and publishing.
  • Onboard new Adjunct Preceptors, prepare instructor guides, coordinate teaching materials, ensure consistency across offerings, and support the integration of industry case studies.
  • Review instructional materials before each offering, validate laboratories and software environments, verify assignments and grading rubrics, ensure instructional assets function correctly, and coordinate revisions based on student feedback.
  • Analyze course evaluations and learning analytics, identify improvement opportunities, recommend instructional innovations, and coordinate certificate-wide enhancements.
  • Collaborate with other Certificate Curriculum Developers to identify shared-course opportunities, harmonize prerequisites, reuse instructional assets, and maintain consistency across the LTI certificate ecosystem.

  • Previous experience designing coursework and/or teaching is preferred.
