Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of professional welding experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with MIG welding.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environment.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of welding techniques, joint preparation, fit-up, and metal fabrication.
  • Ability to properly set welding parameters for different materials and thicknesses.
  • Experience using grinders, saws, torches, clamps, fixtures, and other fabrication equipment.
  • Ability to use standard measuring and inspection tools.
  • Ability to identify weld defects and determine when rework is required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be dependable and able to work effectively in a production environment.
  • Must follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.
Responsibilities
  • Perform MIG and TIG welding on metal components and fabricated assemblies.
  • Set up and adjust welding machines based on material type, thickness, and welding requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and work instructions.
  • Fit, align, tack, and weld components according to specified dimensions and tolerances.
  • Perform welding in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions as required.
  • Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, cleaning, beveling, and fitting components prior to welding.
  • Inspect completed welds for defects, proper penetration, dimensions, and overall workmanship.
  • Use tape measures, squares, calipers, and gauges to verify finished parts.
  • Operate grinders, cutting equipment, torches, and other fabrication tools.
  • Identify welding or fabrication defects and perform rework when necessary.
  • Follow production drawings, job travelers, work orders, and quality requirements.
  • Maintain welding equipment and report equipment problems or unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow company safety procedures and personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Work with production, fabrication, quality, and supervisory personnel to meet production schedules.
  • Stand for extended periods and bend, kneel, stoop, and work in various welding positions.
  • Safely lift and move materials and components as required.
  • Work around welding equipment, machinery, heat, sparks, fumes, and typical manufacturing noise.
Desired Qualifications
  • TIG welding experience.
  • Welding certification or technical/vocational welding training.
  • Experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel, and/or aluminum.
  • Experience with both MIG and TIG welding.
  • Knowledge of American Welding Society welding standards and symbols.
  • Previous experience in custom metal fabrication or industrial equipment manufacturing.
