Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the firm's capital markets strategy to support private lending originations and growth targets.

  • Optimize cost of capital, liquidity, and leverage across the platform.
  • Lead the firm's transition from a balance-sheet warehouse funder to a programmatic securitization issuer, building a hybrid capital stack across warehouse, securitization, whole-loan sales, and loan participations to maximize capital velocity, return on equity, and balance-sheet capacity.
  • Reduce guarantee structures over time through diversified funding strategies and negotiations with warehouse counterparties.
  • Define and execute the path to long-term capital products, including developing an Agency correspondent lending program to support long-term takeout financing for the firm's multifamily, manufactured housing, and homebuilder portfolios.
  • Oversee the firm's treasury function, including liquidity management, cash forecasting, and funding allocation.
  • Ensure efficient deployment of capital across lending programs and investment strategies.
  • Manage warehouse and bank credit facility relationships across existing multi-counterparty bank facilities, advance-rate optimization, covenant compliance, and daily cash operations.
  • Drive wet-funding execution, advance-rate optimization, and pledge-to-leverage timing across warehouse facilities to improve capital efficiency.
  • Build and maintain rolling cash forecasts and longer-term liquidity models integrated with the firm's origination, servicing, and accounting systems.
  • Develop and implement policies for liquidity risk, interest-rate exposure, and capital efficiency, and manage execution of trades for the firm's hedging strategy with a third-party hedging advisor.
  • Partner with finance and accounting teams on cash management, reporting, and covenant compliance.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with CUSIP investors, insurance companies, pension funds, credit funds, banks, and strategic partners, including agency lenders, retail mortgage bankers, and homebuilders.
  • Support debt capital raising across warehouse, securitization, term, and structured finance products, partnering with the CEO and CFO on equity capital activities as needed.
  • Negotiate Master Loan Purchase Agreements, forward flow agreements, and loan participation arrangements with banks and strategic investors.
  • Represent the firm at industry conferences, including SFA, IMN, MBA, and ABS East/West, to deepen its profile with institutional investors and rating agencies.
  • Partner with senior leadership and board members on investor communications, reporting, and strategic positioning.
  • Lead structuring, underwriter selection, and execution of inaugural and subsequent securitizations, including residential transitional loan deals and a future CRE CLO program collateralized by stabilized bridge and DSCR loans; chart the path between rated and unrated execution.
  • Build and manage relationships with rating agencies, bank underwriters, trustees, and custodians.
  • Establish and scale programmatic whole-loan sale and loan participation programs, including par sales with retained servicing strips, premium sales, and gain-on-sale execution across RTL and future term products.
  • Partner with Legal, Operations, Finance, and Technology to build the operational, accounting, and reporting infrastructure required for securitization at scale.
  • Ensure efficient execution from term sheet through closing.
  • Collaborate with credit, underwriting, and portfolio management teams to align capital structures with asset performance.
  • Monitor market conditions and adjust funding strategies accordingly.
  • Lead asset-liability management and interest-rate hedging across floating-rate and fixed-rate products, including rate caps, swaps, and forward-starting hedges.
  • Monitor eligibility criteria, concentration limits, advance rates, and covenant baskets across warehouse facilities and securitization vehicles.
  • Lead and develop the Capital Markets and Treasury teams, ensuring strong coordination between funding strategy and liquidity management.
  • Build scalable processes, infrastructure, and controls across capital markets and treasury functions.
  • Mentor team members and foster a high-performance, collaborative culture.

About the Company

Ascent Developer Solutions

Private lending platform for real estate developers

Ascent Developer Solutions provides private lending and institutional debt financing for top-tier residential developers and investors, offering short-term secured loans for acquisition, renovation, construction, and post-completion bridge financing. Loans are tailored to each project using proprietary data tools and insights, with terms and conditions customized rather than one-size-fits-all. Borrowers receive upfront funding against the project collateral, repay with interest over a short period, and pay origination and other fees as part of the loan. The goal is to support housing development by delivering flexible, project-specific capital that helps developers acquire, renovate, build, and bridge properties to market more efficiently, setting it apart from competitors through a data-driven approach.
