About the company

Fulcrum provides an AI-powered platform that automates back-office tasks for insurance brokers, including proposal generation, policy checks, coverage and claims analysis, and certificate issuance. It uses customized large language models with retrieval, reasoning, and validation pipelines and integrates directly with agency-management systems like Applied Epic and email, so it can extract documents, reconcile data in real time, and update client records without changing users’ workflows. By reducing manual work and speeding up processing, it aims to cut turnaround times and lessen reliance on offshore BPOs. Its goal is to accelerate adoption among large U.S. brokerage firms and scale across top brokerages with ongoing funding.

What believers are saying

  • On September 28, 2026, Fulcrum launched sub-minute certificate automation, deepening workflow coverage.
  • January 2026's $25 million round from CRV, Foundation Capital, and South Park Commons funds expansion.
  • Customer adoption among major brokerages proves procurement traction and creates strong switching costs.

What critics are saying

  • Applied Systems and Vertafore are shipping native AI, shrinking Fulcrum's wedge fast.

  • Megaphone acquisition distracts leadership from core insurance execution and wastes scarce Series A capital.

What makes Fulcrum unique

  • Fulcrum embeds into Applied Epic and Outlook, avoiding broker system replacement.
  • Its insurance-specific LLM pipelines verify policies before generating proposals and certificates.
  • The platform already handles 2,500+ hours daily across nearly half top-50 brokerages.

Fulcrum's certificate automation returns one minute of work to account managers, doubling platform time savings

Fulcrum has launched an automated certificate workflow that generates endorsement-ready certificates from emailed requests in under a minute. The system reads policies directly rather than relying on form-filling, comparing requested coverage against actual client policies and flagging discrepancies before account managers commit. The workflow automatically locates and attaches relevant endorsement forms from policies and incorporates pre-approved description language. Account managers review each certificate before issuance. The automation builds on Fulcrum's existing policy checking and proposal generation capabilities. At renewals, entire accounts can be reissued in batches, work that typically takes agencies days or weeks annually. The company states this represents the largest time-saving feature it has delivered, doubling the hours returned to account managers. Fulcrum is used by nearly half of the top 50 US insurance brokerages and processes over 2,500 hours of servicing work daily.
