About the job

Requirements
  • At least 3 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including closing technical hires at a startup.
  • Experience recruiting for technical roles such as backend, infrastructure, machine learning, or developer tools, and ability to discuss engineers’ work with them.
  • Experience working with agencies or sourcing partners and improving the quality of their submissions through specific feedback.
  • Ability to assess candidate profiles against hiring standards and advise hiring managers on candidate quality.
  • Ability to manage many open roles simultaneously without losing track of candidates or partners.
  • Fluency with Ashby or a comparable applicant tracking system and daily use of artificial intelligence tools for sourcing, screening, or writing.
  • Understanding of compensation bands and equity sufficient to explain offers to candidates and identify when a hiring manager or founder should be involved.
  • Ability to conduct candidate screens and engage with people at in-person events.
  • Willingness to perform event and operations tasks, including check-in, moving supplies, and other operational projects.
  • Must already be authorized to work in the United States or Canada.
Responsibilities
  • Run all recruiting channels—including artificial intelligence recruiting partners, agencies, sourcing tools, referrals, and inbound—as one funnel.
  • Brief and calibrate recruiting partners by translating each hiring manager’s requirements into target profiles, providing specific feedback on submissions, and recalibrating when needed.
  • Assess candidate profiles against the actual hiring standard, evaluate partner submission quality, and act on differences in quality or volume.
  • Source directly and build pipelines when existing channels do not produce candidates for difficult roles.
  • Run screening, introductory conversations, scheduling, references, offer packets, and closing, while responding quickly and communicating declines honestly.
  • Conduct the introductory conversation for every role and provide candidates with a positive experience whether or not they are hired.
  • Recruit at Firecrawl After Dark and hackathons by meeting prospective candidates and developing promising conversations into candidate pipelines.
  • Help plan and execute events, including logistics and day-of work, and contribute to other operations projects as needed.
  • Own Ashby recruiting pipelines, stages, role-specific artificial intelligence screening criteria, and reporting.
  • Run weekly hiring-manager syncs, write candidate notes that support timely decisions, and flag stalled interview processes.
  • Track time to hire, pass rates by stage, and source quality by partner, and use the data to improve the funnel.
  • Draft job descriptions using the company template and hand off each hire to onboarding.
Desired Qualifications
  • Backgrounds that often do well include in-house recruiting at fast-growing startups while managing agencies and requisitions, agency recruiting with placements in infrastructure or machine-learning engineering, or technical sourcing experience developed into full-cycle recruiting.

About the company

Firecrawl provides a context API for AI agents to search, crawl, scrape, and retrieve clean content from the live web and structured indexes at scale. Its platform handles crawling, rendering, parsing, and cleanup so teams don’t need to build their own extraction pipelines. The Alexandria layer unifies official data providers, custom connectors, and Firecrawl indexes with the live web, enabling agents to discover sources and pull knowledge, including paid access like Wikimedia Enterprise. The service supports scale to millions of users and funds deeper indexes, search capabilities, and knowledge-contributor payouts.

Firecrawl raises $75M to build Alexandria, a global knowledge library for AI agents

US-based AI startup Firecrawl has raised $75 million in a Series B round led by Smash Capital. The round included participation from Altos, Nexus, Y Combinator, Freestyle, and Offline Ventures. Founded in 2024 by Brazilian Nicolas Silberstein Camara alongside Caleb Peffer and Eric Ciarla, Firecrawl develops open-source solutions for data extraction and processing. The company serves over 1.5 million developers and 150,000 companies globally, including Shopify, Apple, and Canva. The funding will accelerate expansion and develop Alexandria, a platform designed to aggregate knowledge from diverse sources for AI models and agents. Alexandria will compile scientific research, code repositories, government documents, and real-time data across multiple sectors including finance, e-commerce, and employment. The platform aims to provide compatible access via API, Model Context Protocol, or command-line interface across both open and proprietary AI models. This follows an earlier $15 million Series A round.
