Requirements
  • Four to six years of experience.
  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong Excel skills, including the ability to create and maintain complex spreadsheets.
  • Financial acumen, including experience with cost inventory methods of accounting.
  • The ability to partner, build relationships, and gain consensus across the organization to drive improved forecasting.

  • Availability during core hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • The ability to work 30 hours each week to maintain full-time status.
  • The ability to occasionally work evenings and weekends as job duties demand.
  • The ability to perform the stated physical duties in an office environment, including frequent sitting, walking, and standing; occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and balancing; frequent eye, hand, and finger coordination for office machinery; and occasional lifting of office products and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Develop annual sales, stock, and profit plans in collaboration with Merchandising, Cruise Line Retail, and Finance.
  • Create monthly purchasing budgets aligned with cash objectives by program and brand for the year.
  • Measure progress and performance and course-correct as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Merchant on profitable assortment strategies, including product mix, inventory targets, gross margin objectives, and cruise line or itinerary market needs.
  • Identify strategic opportunities to drive top-line growth and optimize profit.
  • Monitor, maintain, and forecast sales, receipts, and margin during the monthly Open-to-Buy process.
  • Present business results and forecasts during formal management reviews.
  • Align with the Cruise Line Retail team on in-season sales forecasts and stock-plan targets to capitalize on opportunities and minimize risk.
  • Partner with the Merchant on assortment development, including assortment breadth, delivery timing and cadence, pricing and markup, and core-versus-fashion product mix.
  • Collaborate with the Merchant on inventory analysis, markdowns and clearance of aged stock, and financial validation and execution of merchandising initiatives.
  • Recommend expanding or funding high-performing programs and initiatives and propose solutions for underperforming programs.
  • Review operational sales and inventory targets with the Distribution team to align replenishment and ordering with ship, itinerary, and program or brand targets.
  • Analyze sales trends to optimize inventory investments and drive sales.
  • Review transition plans for new assortments and itineraries.
  • Use exception-based reporting to identify projected low onboard stock, potential lost sales, low distribution-center stock, overstocks, and fixture-fill variance.
  • Manage purchasing-budget days to fund profitable items and issue purchases with lead times ranging from one week to six months.
  • Ensure top items are in stock across all locations, including the distribution center, and communicate anticipated stock challenges to Merchandising and Cruise Line Retail.
  • Support new ships and initiatives with appropriate stock investment and communicate status and timing to stakeholders.
  • Identify process improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Work with vendor partners to improve fill rates, timely shipping, and vendor compliance.
  • Collaborate with Logistics on inbound and outbound product flow to improve speed-to-market initiatives.
  • Identify and leverage cost efficiencies and support the company's profit-driving supply-chain initiatives.
  • Hire, train, develop, motivate, and retain a talented team.
  • Lead and manage a team of Distributors.
  • Complete annual performance evaluations and provide feedback to grow and develop the team.
  • Provide regular performance feedback to the MP&D leadership team.
  • Develop strong relationships with the Merchant partner through teamwork and communication.
  • Communicate regularly with Cruise Line Retail leadership, Directors, District Managers, Ship Managers, Logistics, and sales support functions.
