About the job
- A Federal Communications Commission General Radiotelephone Operator License is required.
- FAA Authorized Technician certification is required.
- Previous experience installing and maintaining FAA Automated Weather Observing Systems is required.
- Strong understanding of FAA regulations governing aviation weather systems is required.
- Proficiency with electronic test equipment and diagnostic tools is required.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision is required.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
- Ability to travel 70–80% of the time, including overnight stays, is required.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in various weather conditions is required.
- Install, configure, and commission FAA-certified Automated Weather Observing Systems at customer sites nationwide.
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Automated Weather Observing Systems equipment.
- Conduct system upgrades and modifications in accordance with FAA standards.
- Complete all required FAA documentation and certifications for installed systems.
- Provide technical support and training to customers on Automated Weather Observing Systems operation and maintenance.
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all field activities.
- Coordinate with project management and engineering teams on installation schedules and technical requirements.
- Ensure all work complies with FAA regulations and Mesotech quality standards.
- Experience with multiple Automated Weather Observing Systems manufacturers and system types.
- Knowledge of airport operations and communications systems.
- FAA Repairman certificate.
- Military or Department of Defense weather systems experience.
