Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in quality engineering, test automation, or software testing roles.
  • Deep expertise in email systems, including IMAP, SMTP, and mail migration, or calendar systems, including CalDAV, iCalendar, and scheduling infrastructure, with the ability to learn the complementary domain.
  • Proficiency in Python or Java, with experience building test automation frameworks and working with application programming interfaces.
  • Experience establishing data integrity verification procedures involving message counts, content checksums, metadata preservation, and structural validation.
  • The ability to write and maintain automated test plans suitable for continuous integration and continuous deployment integration across server development and deployment workflows.
Responsibilities
  • Design and implement comprehensive test scenarios for mail features and enhancements, including migration workflows and continuous integration and continuous deployment integration.
  • Build and maintain Python-based testing tools for test data generation, migration validation, mailbox inspection, and automated cleanup operations.
  • Develop black-box validation approaches that verify migration correctness through Internet Message Access Protocol verification without relying on internal implementation details.
  • Validate Calendaring Extensions to WebDAV protocol operations, including PROPFIND, REPORT, PUT, DELETE, and MKCALENDAR, and iCalendar event handling across single, recurring, and all-day event types.
  • Test complex calendar scenarios involving recurrence rules, timezone handling with daylight saving time transitions, recurring event splits, and detached instances.
  • Build and maintain Java/TestNG-based test suites with data-driven testing, behavior-driven development specifications using Gauge, and comprehensive application programming interface validation.
  • Investigate and triage failures across both systems, work with development teams to reproduce issues and analyze root causes, and validate fixes.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, document test methodologies and findings, and maintain high code quality standards across testing tools.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in both email and calendar domains.
  • A background in enterprise email administration, Internet Message Access Protocol/Simple Mail Transfer Protocol server operations, or Calendaring Extensions to WebDAV server implementations.
  • Proficiency in both Python and Java testing ecosystems, including TestNG, Gauge, and behavior-driven development frameworks.
  • Experience with large-scale data migration projects involving more than 10,000 users or more than 1 terabyte of data, or with high-availability calendar services.
  • Deep knowledge of RFC specifications 5545, 4791, 5322, and 3501.
  • Experience with complex temporal logic, including recurrence rules, timezone handling, and daylight saving time transitions, or complex state machines involving attendee workflows and event lifecycles.
  • Familiarity with Apple ecosystem technologies, including iCloud, Mail.app, Calendar.app, and iOS/macOS frameworks.
  • Experience testing distributed systems, service-oriented architectures, or protocol-level implementations.
  • A track record of building reusable test tools and frameworks adopted by other teams.
  • Contributions to open-source testing, email-related, or calendar-related projects.
  • Experience with the ical4j library or similar iCalendar manipulation frameworks.

Morgan Stanley sets $360 Apple target on AI innovation and 690M upgrade opportunity

Morgan Stanley analyst Erik Woodring has maintained an overweight rating on Apple with a $360 price target, citing accelerated innovation at the company's September product event. The analyst highlighted Apple's first foldable iPhone, new A20 chips, and enhanced Siri capabilities as signs of stronger momentum under new CEO John Ternus, who recently replaced Tim Cook. Woodring noted that 57% of Apple's installed base—roughly 690 million devices—runs phones older than the iPhone 15 Pro, whilst 87% cannot handle complex Siri AI workloads. With consumers keeping iPhones for over four years, this creates significant upgrade potential. Apple recently reported strong fiscal third-quarter results with revenue of $109.4 billion, up 16% year-over-year, and earnings per share of $2.02, up 29%.

Bank of America cuts Apple price target to $370 after iPhone Duo foldable launch

Bank of America cut its Apple price target to $370 from $380 whilst maintaining a Buy rating, following the iPhone Duo launch under new CEO John Ternus. Analyst Wamsi Mohan cited lower-than-expected iPhone pricing pressuring gross margins amid elevated component costs. The iPhone Duo, Apple's first foldable phone, features a 7.6-inch inner display and 5.4-inch outer display, both supporting Dynamic Island and 120Hz ProMotion. Starting at $1,999, it launches 23 October with pre-orders opening 16 October. Mohan called the foldable the event's standout, noting its potential to reach mainstream audiences through features like dual capture in FaceTime. Citi described it as Apple's biggest new hardware category since the Watch and AirPods.

Apple Watch can record 15 seconds of conversation without both speakers' consent

Apple's new Watch Series 12 features Audio Intelligence capabilities that can record conversations without consent from all parties. The Live Rewind function captures 15 seconds of conversation and converts it to text after the wearer double-presses the Digital Crown. Whilst the watch emits an audible tone to alert nearby people, this doesn't constitute legal consent in 11 US states requiring all-party consent for recordings. The watch processes audio through its S11 chip and nearby iPhone, discarding the original recording after creating text. Siri Recap summarises conversations throughout the day without retaining audio or identifying speakers. The Electronic Frontier Foundation criticised the feature, arguing people lack practical means to consent or decline recording. EFF's Adam Schwartz warned the technology threatens conversational privacy and spontaneity, urging users to reconsider using it out of respect for others.

AT&T CEO dismisses $2K Apple iPhone Duo as 'not new', doubts foldable will break niche status

AT&T CEO John Stankey expressed scepticism about Apple's newly unveiled foldable iPhone Duo, priced at $1,999. Speaking at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia and Technology Conference, Stankey said the device is "not new", noting that Android manufacturers like Samsung and Google have sold foldables for years without broad market success. "What we've seen is that it tends to function more as a specific niche type application as opposed to [being] broadly accepted," Stankey said. He acknowledged Apple could prove him wrong but doubted it would change market dynamics significantly. IDC analyst Francisco Jeronimo estimates foldables represent only about 2.2% of global smartphone sales in 2026. Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8 retails for $1,899.

Apple's foldable iPhone Duo starts at $1,999, but will shoppers actually buy it?

Apple unveiled its first foldable iPhone, the iPhone Duo, priced from $1,999 to $3,199. The device features a 7.6-inch inner display and 5.4-inch outer screen, allowing users to run two apps simultaneously. The Duo costs $800 more than Apple's new iPhone 18 Pro. CEO John Ternus called it "the most transformational change to iPhone since the original". Whilst Samsung, Huawei, Google, and Motorola already sell foldables, these devices remain niche. IDC expects global foldable shipments to reach 22.9 million units in 2026, representing just over 2% of the smartphone market. However, analysts believe Apple's entry could shift the landscape. IDC forecasts Apple will ship over 17 million foldable iPhones by 2027, capturing roughly 40% of the global foldables market. The company's large customer base may drive broader adoption of the expensive new format.
