Requirements
  • A Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an ACPE-accredited institution is required.
  • Candidates must be eligible for pharmacist licensure in Massachusetts.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and medical writing skills are required.
  • Candidates must have strong scientific acumen, be able to simplify complex scientific data, and have an interest in gene editing and CRISPR.
  • Strong time management and leadership abilities are required.
  • Candidates must be able to work independently and take initiative on a variety of projects at both the industry site and Northeastern.
  • Candidates must be capable of a hybrid or in-person work arrangement, with an expectation to be on-site at Intellia approximately four times per month, subject to team and project needs.
  • Candidates must be able to travel to scientific conferences in the United States or internationally as business needs require.
  • The successful applicant must maintain valid United States work authorization throughout the appointment without Northeastern University visa sponsorship; STEM OPT is not compatible with the position.
Responsibilities
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of Intellia’s CRISPR gene-editing technology and relevant disease and treatment landscapes to support strategic evidence generation and product value propositions.
  • Learn to execute global and United States health economics and outcomes research studies across patient-focused drug development, real-world evidence generation and analysis, evidence synthesis, and health economic modeling.
  • Support patient-focused drug development, including patient-reported outcomes as key measures in clinical trials.
  • Generate and analyze real-world evidence to identify unmet needs and inform comparative effectiveness, global epidemiology for regulatory interactions, and stakeholder disease education and awareness.
  • Conduct evidence synthesis through literature reviews and indirect or mixed treatment comparisons.
  • Develop health economic models, including cost-effectiveness and budget-impact analyses, and tools to define target patient populations in the United States and ex-United States markets.
  • Support global health economics and outcomes research activities, including pre-approval information exchange tools for United States launch and post-approval value tools.
  • Contribute to strategy and planning for country-specific health technology assessment interactions and reimbursement dossier development.
  • Support or lead health economics and outcomes research publications for scientific conferences and peer-reviewed journals and keep publication plans current for studies.
  • Help execute health economics and outcomes research tactics, including managing external vendors supporting study execution.
  • Support presentations for internal team meetings to drive cross-functional collaboration and improve work quality.
  • Manage development and approval of external-facing health economics and outcomes research materials through Veeva PromoMats.
  • In year two, optionally partner with field teams to translate health economics and outcomes research evidence into customer-facing value narratives and support scientific exchange with payers and providers alongside the Payer Account Management team.
  • In year two, optionally contribute to cross-functional market access planning by assessing evidence gaps, evaluating payer landscape insights, and helping shape value propositions across key stakeholder segments.
  • Participate in future fellowship recruitment activities and interviews.
Desired Qualifications
  • Elective study or experience related to epidemiology, outcomes research, health economics, statistics, biostatistics, or real-world evidence research is a plus.
  • An advanced degree (PhD, MS, or MPH) in related fields such as health economics and outcomes research, epidemiology, or public health is preferred.
