Requirements
  • A high school diploma is required.
  • Must possess at least one International Code Council certification for a special inspector category: reinforced concrete, soils, masonry, spray-applied fireproofing, steel and bolt, or steel and weld; alternatively, an American Concrete Institute Grade 1 certification or an Engineer-in-Training certificate through a State Board is accepted.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with managers, teammates, and clients through clear communications and proactive progress reporting.
Responsibilities
  • Perform tests and inspections for soils, concrete, asphalt, reinforced concrete, masonry, welding and bolting, fireproofing and firestopping, geotechnical investigations, and other areas.
  • Read construction drawings and specifications and correctly interpret test results.
  • Complete assignments accurately and in accordance with established standards.
  • Record and report test results clearly and concisely.
  • Communicate regularly with project managers.
  • Complete field data records and associated reports daily.
  • Prepare for and complete continuing education for certifications through the American Concrete Institute and International Code Council.
Desired Qualifications
  • A degree in Civil Engineering/Technology, Geology, or a related field is described as ideal, although necessary.
