Requirements
  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Six months of related experience working in a financial retail environment is preferred.
  • Two to three years of direct retail sales experience and cash handling are preferred.
  • Demonstrated analytical, accuracy, and problem-solving skills within a work environment are required.
  • Ability to communicate verbally clearly and effectively and in writing is required.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals is required.
  • Typing and data entry skills and experience using a 10-key calculator are required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
  • Ability to sit for long periods and occasionally stand, walk, stoop, reach, and lift or move up to 10 pounds is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required Series 30, Membership Officer, Notary, and Lending Authority credentials is required.
Responsibilities
  • Build rapport, ask questions to uncover member needs, recommend solutions, educate members about service options, and demonstrate a helpful service culture.
  • Open new member accounts, service existing accounts, offer solutions tailored to individual member needs, and safeguard member information.
  • Maintain knowledge of credit union programs to deliver exemplary and accurate service.
  • Provide deposit, consumer loan, mortgage loan, and money management services to members.
  • Collaborate across branches and support departments to facilitate appropriate member solutions.
  • Perform teller operations, reception, consumer loan, and mortgage loan duties as needed.
  • Use member-facing, telephone, email, and video-conferencing delivery channels.
  • Complete the onboarding plan and apply a member-centric approach when serving members.
  • Assume responsibility for personal and professional development through training and collaboration.
  • Meet or exceed scorecard expectations for member service, accuracy, and member centricity.
  • Open and maintain accounts, including audits and product add-ons.
  • Complete branch reporting and balancing as needed.
  • Assist coworkers with learning.
  • Comply with National Credit Union Administration requirements and register as a Mortgage Loan Originator under the SAFE Act.
  • Adhere to applicable federal and state laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act and the Office of Foreign Assets Control requirements.
  • Open and close the branch, assist with real estate and consumer loan closings, and represent the credit union at external events as assigned.
  • Comply with the Fair and Accurate Credit Transaction Act, the Bank Secrecy Act, and the Anti-Money Laundering Act, including monitoring for applicable illegal activity.
