Overview
Nova Medical Services is expanding into a new sector, providing top-tier care across various points of service (POS). We are seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) Medical Assistant who thrives in dynamic environments, has strong organizational skills, and is proficient with computers and electronic medical records (EMR).
This position will primarily support one Neurologist (MD) and will involve working across various points of service, including clinics, assisted living facilities (ALFs), nursing homes, and other healthcare settings as needed.
This is a field-based position that requires regular travel. The Medical Assistant may be required to travel from Miami-Dade County to Broward County and Palm Beach County based on operational and patient care needs. Travel assignments may vary from week to week depending on provider schedules, patient needs, and assigned points of service.
A company-issued gas card will be provided for approved business-related travel.
Responsibilities
- Travel to assigned locations (clinics, ALFs, nursing homes) to support Nova Medical Services' providers.
- Assist in delivering high-quality care across different specialties, including internal medicine, geriatrics, and more.
- Perform routine clinical tasks, such as:
- Taking and recording patient vitals.
- Preparing patients for examinations and treatments.
- Administering injections, immunizations, or medications as directed by providers.
- Collecting and processing lab specimens.
- Performing basic diagnostic tests (e.g., EKGs, spirometry) when needed.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system.
- Manage patient records and assist with scheduling follow-ups and referrals.
- Maintain clean and organized workspaces, ensuring equipment and supplies are stocked at each site.
- Serve as a liaison between providers and patients to ensure smooth communication.
- Adapt to the unique needs of each POS and specialty rotation.
- Provide culturally competent care to a diverse patient population.
- Adhere to all Nova Medical Services policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) preferred but not required
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (required).
- Proven ability to work in diverse healthcare settings (clinics, ALFs, nursing homes).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency with computers and EMR systems (experience with EMR software if applicable is a plus).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between locations.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments and specialty rotations.

Compensation
- $20.00 per hour
