Augment Code Debuts Ai Agent With 70% Win Rate Over Github Copilot And Record-Breaking Swe-Bench Score

Join our daily and weekly newsletters for the latest updates and exclusive content on industry-leading AI coverage. Learn More. Augment Code, an AI coding assistant startup, unveiled its new “Augment Agent” technology today, designed to tackle the complexity of large software engineering projects rather than simple code generation. The company claims its approach represents a significant departure from other AI coding tools by focusing on helping developers navigate and modify large, established codebases that span millions of lines of code across multiple repositories. The company also announced it has achieved the highest score to date on SWE-bench verified, an industry benchmark for AI coding capabilities, by combining Anthropic’s Claude Sonnet 3.7 with OpenAI’s O1 reasoning model.“Most work in the coding AI space, which is clearly a hot sector, has focused on what people call ‘zero to one’ or ‘vibe coding’ – starting with nothing and producing a piece of software by the end of the session,” said Scott Dietzen, CEO of Augment Code, in an exclusive interview with VentureBeat. “What we targeted instead is the software engineering discipline of maintaining big, complex systems — databases, networking stacks, storage — codebases that have evolved over many years with hundreds of developers working on them collaboratively.”Founded in 2022, Augment Code has raised $270 million in total funding, including a $227 million Series B round announced in April 2024 at a post-money valuation of $977 million. The company’s investors include Sutter Hill Ventures, Index Ventures, Innovation Endeavors (led by former Google CEO Eric Schmidt), Lightspeed Venture Partners, and Meritech Capital

Take Note In 2025: Why The New Year Is The Time To Revolutionize Your Personal Organization

Now matter how you take notes now, artificial intelligence is poised to radically improve the process. (BigStock Image)How do you take notes? What do you do with them?If you’re like most people, your system might feel “good enough,” but deep down, you suspect there’s room for improvement. In the era of AI, that’s about to change. Most people are not satisfied with their “system” of note-taking and organization. Even productivity geeks like me are always experimenting with the newest tool, tech or tactic to create the seamless, friction-free “second brain.” It’s an elusive pursuit — one that I fear may never be fully achieved. For the non-productivity geeks, streamlining note-taking and organization exists in a state of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” meaning their current process has worked so far so might as well just continue using it. The thought of investing time to learn new software or a new approach and having it not be helpful is too big a risk. Time feels more precious than ever

Openai’S Latest Chatgpt Upgrade Aims At Business Workflows

An artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot that remembers what you asked it to do last month? That’s the promise behind ChatGPT’s latest upgrade, which could push the technology beyond quick answers into managing long-term business tasks. The update lets ChatGPT track vendor payments and purchase orders over time, but companies weighing this AI workflow assistant face a core challenge. These systems may be getting smarter, but they still mix up facts and misunderstand requests — leaving businesses to decide how much they can trust AI with their daily operations. The update, dubbed Projects, provides a dedicated space to work on long-form tasks like documents or coding projects. It allows users to create, edit and iterate within a structured canvas alongside conversations in an attempt to improve focus and collaboration by keeping work organized and easily accessible during discussions
