Requirements
  • An associate degree or higher, or active pursuit of at least an associate degree with a written, documented plan to complete it within three years or less.
  • Current national certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or licensure as a Pharmacist.
  • Current New Mexico Board of Pharmacy registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist.
  • Current memberships in state and national pharmacy or education associations, with proof of membership required.
  • At least five years of experience practicing pharmacy.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare, teach, grade, and assess student learning in assigned courses.
  • Create and model a quality learning environment supporting a diverse student population, including students with disabilities or special learning needs.
  • Maintain student records and provide documentation for incompletes within established College timelines.
  • Use technology-based programs to access and enter information related to student records and college, school, and department processes.
  • Assist students with registration, advising, and graduation processes.
  • Structure classes and curriculum to align with program and course outcomes.
  • Prepare, distribute, and use instructional support materials, including course syllabi, supplementary materials, instructional media, and other appropriate devices.
  • Hold classes as scheduled and respond to student inquiries.
  • Assist students outside the classroom through posted office hours.
  • Attend required in-service sessions, college, school, and department meetings, graduation, and convocation.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Two years of recent teaching or training experience in the Pharmacy Technician field.
  • Experience with current ASHP/ACPE accreditation standards.
  • Experience with current issues, trends, and developments in pharmacy technician instruction.
