About the job

Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 15 years of relevant experience in technical leadership and/or technology consulting on large enterprise projects.
  • Experience working on multiple projects at the architect level with an architect title.
  • Knowledge of Agile processes, preferably Scrum.
  • Experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems delivered as enterprise-wide, global-facing Platform as a Service or Software as a Service offerings.
  • Experience with large-scale migrations to Azure.
  • Experience with service-oriented architecture and/or microservices-based architectures.
  • Experience documenting complex solution architecture designs using modeling and diagramming techniques appropriate for the required context.
  • Hands-on experience and solid understanding of C#/.NET 4.5 or later, Web API, SQL Server 2014 or later, Windows Server 2012 R2, a message broker or service bus technology, and Azure.
  • Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design.
  • Ability to identify and communicate issues and risks using technical and root cause analysis skills.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication, presentation, influencing, and reasoning skills, including comfort speaking before an executive audience.
  • Creativity and ability to define sound and practical solutions.
  • Ability to take initiative and move projects and ideas forward with clarity.
  • Negotiation skills in high-pressure situations.
Responsibilities
  • Design and build large-scale distributed systems delivered as enterprise-wide, global-facing Platform as a Service or Software as a Service offerings.
  • Document complex solution architecture designs using appropriate modeling and diagramming techniques.
  • Identify and communicate technical issues and risks through root cause analysis.
  • Define sound and practical technical solutions.
  • Move projects and ideas forward with clarity.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB and Redis.
  • Experience with Service Bus for Windows Server or Azure Service Bus.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services.
  • Experience with the Cloudera Hadoop ecosystem.
  • Experience with Tableau.
  • An Enterprise Architecture certification such as EACOE or TOGAF.
  • Tax industry or financial services experience.
