Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in a senior network or infrastructure engineering role supporting enterprise environments spanning hybrid datacenter and cloud.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, VMware vSphere/ESX/ESXi, and Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience designing and supporting enterprise LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi networks, including routing, switching, VPNs, Quality of Service, packet capture, and traffic analysis.
  • Firewall administration experience with SonicWall, Cisco ASA, or Palo Alto, including policy management, VPNs, logging, and triage.
  • Experience with virtualization operations and performance tuning across compute, storage, and networking.
  • Windows Server administration experience, including legacy environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Exchange in enterprise contexts.
  • Working knowledge of supporting SQL Server environments.
  • Strong operational practices involving change management, incident response, documentation, and clear communication.
Responsibilities
  • Own day-to-day VMware environment operations, including lifecycle management, capacity, performance tuning, patching, upgrades, backup and disaster recovery coordination, and incident response.
  • Plan and execute migration from VMware to Nutanix or Nutanix-based platforms while minimizing downtime and risk.
  • Operate and optimize storage and compute platforms such as Cisco UCS, NetApp FAS/AFF, and FlexPod, including performance troubleshooting and resilience planning.
  • Manage and optimize Microsoft Azure workloads, including networking, compute, storage, security controls, cost optimization, and operational monitoring.
  • Operate Kubernetes environments, including cluster upgrades, reliability, networking, ingress, policy, and workload troubleshooting.
  • Build, deploy, and support Docker containerized applications and supporting infrastructure, including registries, image hygiene, runtime security, and scaling.
  • Implement and maintain L4/L7 load-balancing solutions, including TLS configuration and operational monitoring.
  • Design, implement, and support enterprise data, voice, and video networks across LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi.
  • Configure and support routing, switching, and core network services including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, Quality of Service, DHCP, and DNS.
  • Administer and harden firewalls and VPNs using SonicWall, Cisco ASA, and Palo Alto, and support secure remote access patterns.
  • Maintain secure internal and external data-transfer mechanisms such as SFTP and managed file transfer, including certificates, keys, access controls, and auditing.
  • Support vulnerability remediation, security hardening, and practical control implementation aligned with customer and security expectations, including PCI and SOC-related controls where applicable.
  • Own SSL/TLS certificate lifecycle management across infrastructure components.
  • Build repeatable automated operations using infrastructure as code and configuration management to reduce manual work and increase reliability.
  • Improve observability and troubleshooting through monitoring, alerting, packet capture, and traffic analysis, and drive root-cause prevention.
  • Participate in on-call and after-hours support rotations for high-priority incidents and maintenance windows.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors or clients to plan changes, execute upgrades, resolve incidents, and document outcomes.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation including runbooks, diagrams, and standards.
Desired Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field and significant datacenter operations experience.
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, VCP, Nutanix NCP, Azure AZ-104 or AZ-305, Security+, or equivalent experience.
  • Production experience with Cisco UCS, NetApp FAS/AFF, and FlexPod architectures.
  • Familiarity with IIS and Tomcat administration and email security tooling such as SpamTitan.
  • Experience with Jira, Kace, SolarWinds, PRTG, Cerberus SFTP, Zerto, Trend Micro, WSUS, and related monitoring, endpoint, and security platforms.
