Duet helps nurse practitioner–owned practices expand primary care access by handling the business side of care. It provides a suite of back-office services, including administrative support, financial planning, and operational efficiency improvements, so clinicians can focus on patient care while the practices run smoothly and stay profitable. Revenue comes from service fees charged to the supported practices. Unlike broader healthcare consultancies, Duet targets NP-owned practices and community health outcomes, using a focused, practice-level partnership to grow access to care in underserved areas and improve overall healthcare results.

Simplify Jobs

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Duet says it is building the nation's largest network of NP-owned practices.
  • Payor-facing network expansion broadens negotiating leverage and utilization across multiple clinics.
  • 2026 job postings signal hiring across engineering, FP&A, and integrations, implying active buildout.

What critics are saying

  • NP reimbursement pressure remains severe; Duet itself highlights 15% losses becoming 50% losses.
  • Dependence on small independent practices concentrates churn if clinics fail or merge.
  • Seed-stage backing from Kairos HQ and Lerer Hippeau means revenue scale still unproven.

What makes Duet unique

  • Duet builds exclusive contracts around NP-led primary care, not generic clinic software.
  • It targets nurse practitioner-owned practices, a narrow underserved wedge with clear reimbursement pain.
  • Monthly NP Practice nominations and content create distribution inside the NP community.
