Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering or Geology is required.
  • Two to five years of experience working as a Mining Manager or Mining Engineer is required.
  • Prior experience with open-pit mining is required.
  • The role requires strong computer skills, including Surpac Mining Software and Microsoft Office.
  • The role requires physical dexterity to navigate various job conditions, including climbing and walking on less-than-optimal surfaces.
  • The role requires the ability to tolerate noise, dust, and dirty conditions.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and update mining plans in cooperation with corporate mining personnel.
  • Provide support to quarry personnel on mining and crushing operations as needed, including implementation of mining plans.
  • Review and optimize mining-related key performance efficiency indicators on an ongoing basis.
  • Perform global positioning system quarry surveys.
  • Update mineral reserves.
  • Work closely with the plant Quality Manager to ensure the quality and consistency of quarried material.
  • Support permitting and compliance activities.
  • Support quarry personnel in optimizing mobile equipment operations, including completing time studies.
  • Train quarry personnel as needed.
  • Complete internal and external quarry operations reports.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus.
