Requirements
  • Knowledge of heavy rigging and preferably basic to advanced rigging according to NCCER standards.
  • Ability to learn and understand work-related safety hazards and safely operate tools and equipment.
  • Ability to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 50 pounds, with occasional loads up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to perform repetitive use of the hands, arms, and legs.
  • Hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to hear, comprehend, and speak sufficiently to perform work safely.
  • Ability to perform sedentary through heavy work.
  • Ability to operate electric, gas, and pneumatic hand and power tools.
  • Ability to climb and maintain balance on steel or wood framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
  • Ability to frequently grasp, lift, handle, carry, or feel objects.
  • Ability to perform prolonged bending, twisting, walking, crawling, kneeling, reaching overhead, squatting, pushing, pulling, standing, and lifting.
  • Ability to walk on uneven surfaces, muddy conditions, loose rock, and loose or soft sand.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces when required.
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management and supervision.
  • Reading and writing comprehension sufficient to give and receive directions and follow safety policies.
  • Ability to use mathematics and complete calculations.
  • Ability to work at various tempos and concentrate amid distractions.

Responsibilities
  • Erect and dismantle lattice boom cranes.
  • Interpret hand signals to direct cranes during pile-driving activities.
  • Read prints and take measurements to assist with layout.
  • Plumb piles using levels.
  • Assist other craft workers as needed.

  • Basic to advanced rigging knowledge according to NCCER standards.
