Requirements
  • A master's degree or a master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in an academic major in Computer Science or Information Technology, including fields such as Computer Education, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Science and Technology, Curriculum and Instruction, Decision and Information Technology, Educational Technology, Information Security, Information Security Management, Information Systems, Information Technology, Programming and Analysis, Security Management, Technology Management, Education in Learning, Information Assurance, or Information Management.
  • Three to five years of work-related experience in the field with demonstrated evidence of proficiency is required.
  • Applicants must complete a criminal background check.

Responsibilities
  • Plans, organizes, and delivers instruction in didactic, laboratory, and classroom settings to promote student success within a community college setting.
  • Supports the college and departmental missions through quality instruction, curriculum enhancement, and timely service.
  • Collaborates with the Chair, faculty, and peers to evaluate, revise, and develop curriculum that cultivates mastery of course content.
  • Demonstrates technological literacy and innovation in the delivery of instruction.
  • Collaborates as part of an academic team.
  • Assists with implementing college policies, objectives, and functions in accordance with college philosophy, mission, strategic initiatives, and procedures.
  • Participates in departmental meetings and collegewide committees as needed.
  • Provides students with frequent, timely assessment and clear feedback regarding academic performance.
  • Documents student progress and maintains records including attendance, grading, and student learning outcomes.
  • Develops methods to fairly and accurately assess student progress toward stated learning outcomes and objectives.
  • Maintains office hours proportionate to the instructional assignment.
  • Protects the privacy and security of student records and other sensitive information in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Complies with college rules, procedures, guidelines, and laws, including requirements related to document retention and destruction, FERPA, and confidentiality.
  • Provides courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
