Requirements
  • Be an actively practicing, Board-Certified Physician in Family Medicine with pediatric experience, Psychiatry, or Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
  • Hold an active, unrestricted United States medical license.
  • Be board certified in the specialty by an ABMS- or AOA-recognized board.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience within the specialty.
  • Be actively practicing and providing direct patient care for an average of at least 20 hours per week.
  • Demonstrate strong written communication and clinical documentation skills.
  • Independently evaluate complex medical records and provide evidence-based conclusions.
  • Meet established case turnaround deadlines.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct independent, remote clinical case reviews within the area of expertise.
  • Evaluate medical necessity, appropriateness of care, quality of care, and standard of care.
  • Review medical records and supporting clinical documentation.
  • Apply established clinical guidelines, evidence-based standards, and professional judgment.
  • Provide clear, well-supported written determinations.
  • Support utilization reviews, appeals, hearings, and quality or standard-of-care concerns.
  • Maintain clinical neutrality, objectivity, and confidentiality throughout the review process.
  • Complete assigned reviews within established turnaround times.
