NatWest reshuffles leadership as Evelyn Partners deal lifts fee income outlook by 20%

NatWest Group has reshuffled its senior leadership. Isabelle Girolami will become chief executive officer of Commercial Institutional in 2027, while Walid Assaf joins as chief executive officer of Markets. Jonathan Peberdy and Robert Begbie also get new roles. The changes put trading, risk and institutional banking experience around businesses that already drive the bank's lending in infrastructure, social housing and high-growth ventures. The moves come as NatWest integrates Evelyn Partners, an acquisition completed in June 2026. Fee income is expected to rise about 20% from the deal. Risks remain. Loan growth is outpacing deposits, which may require more wholesale funding and pressure margins. NatWest projects £20.7 billion in revenue and £6.9 billion in earnings by 2029.
