Axuall appoints healthcare technology executive Kris Joshi to Board of Directors. Sep 09, 2026, 09:30 ET Former Optum and Change Healthcare leader brings three decades of software, data, and AI scaling experience to Axuall's clinician data platform and AI offerings. CLEVELAND, Sept. 9, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ - Axuall, the leader in clinical workforce intelligence, today announced the appointment of Kris Joshi, PhD, to its Board of Directors as an independent director. Joshi joins Axuall at a pivotal moment for provider data. Healthcare organizations are under mounting pressure to expand clinical capacity and meet patient demand, yet the decisions that govern it still rely on fragmented, outdated, and manually compiled information about the clinical workforce. Axuall addresses this by delivering uniquely insightful provider information, coupled with workflow-integrated solutions and AI to improve patient access by infusing real-time provider data into planning, recruiting, engagement, onboarding, and provider alignment across complex, integrated delivery networks. Joshi's career experiences span the transitions Axuall is navigating: building category-defining data infrastructure, scaling it into healthcare enterprises, and applying AI at scale. He served as CEO of Optum's $3 billion Software, Network, and Data business following Optum's acquisition of Change Healthcare in 2022, leading a portfolio of healthcare software, data, analytics, payment, and network businesses that serve payers, providers, and life sciences organizations. He subsequently served as CEO of Norstella, a global life sciences data and AI company. Prior to Optum, Joshi spent 9 years at Change Healthcare as EVP and President of Software and Network Solutions, where he helped grow revenue from $1 billion to $3.5 billion and helped lead the company through a successful IPO. Earlier in his career, he was Global Vice President of Products at Oracle, where he helped establish the Health Sciences Global Business Unit, and held senior strategy roles in IBM's global healthcare business. He began his career at McKinsey & Company. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Caltech and a PhD in Astrophysics from MIT. "Kris brings a wealth of perspective and insight as we expand our capabilities and markets," said Charlie Lougheed, Founder and CEO of Axuall. "He has run some of the largest data and network businesses in healthcare, and he understands that the hard part is not the model; it is the quality and reach of the data underneath it. His judgment on where enterprise healthcare is heading, and how AI changes healthcare workforce decisions, is already shaping how we think about the next phase of the company." "Provider data has been treated as a back-office cost for decades, and that is changing fast," said Joshi. "The organizations that can answer workforce questions accurately and contextually using AI will be able to move faster. Axuall has assembled the underlying enterprise-grade platform that makes those answers possible, and I am glad to help the team turn it into a standard the industry relies on." The appointment comes as Axuall advances an agent-forward product strategy, applying AI to deliver complete and actionable answers on clinician supply, credentialing readiness, and network alignment rather than requiring customers to assemble the pieces themselves. Verified, continuously refreshed provider data is the prerequisite for that shift, and it remains the core of Axuall's platform. Axuall provides the underlying data infrastructure and AI-driven intelligence that healthcare organizations need to recruit, manage, and scale their clinical workforce. By turning static provider data into real-time, actionable insights, Axuall accelerates recruitment and onboarding, combats provider data decay, and expands patient access across modern healthcare systems. Zach Philips, Chief Growth Officer of AxuallFirst impressions are everything. Almost everyone working in healthcare understands that. And it’s not just clinicians. The architect who designed the front lobby of a hospital or the website developer who ensures the ease of use of a health system’s digital presence understands how important that first impression is. Patients come first in healthcare, and that’s true when focusing on patient access or simply creating a welcoming environment. It is just as important to focus on the impact that the digital front door has on clinicians
