- Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP
- Recent experience in general ledger accounting at the Accounting Manager level at a public company
- Strong knowledge of end to end accounting processes and understanding of financial statement line items
- Excellent analytical, creative problem solving, organizational and project management skills
- Strong sense of ownership and curiosity to learn new skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with interest in prioritizing and multi-tasking
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
- NetSuite experience is preferred
- Passion for Affirm and a strong interest in technology
- Envision and execute improvements to day-to-day accounting and close procedures
- Perform accounting and control procedures related to highly visible and complex accounting transactions
- Review workpapers, journal entries and reconciliations prepared by Accounting Lead and Sr. Accountant team members
- Help build and maintain high standards in our work product to support our SOX compliance
- Assist in designing, implementing, maintaining and monitoring corporate accounting policies and procedures
- Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement flux variance analysis for management reporting
- Execute existing accounting and reporting controls and procedures during the monthly and quarterly close
- Provide leadership to strengthen the accounting team with a commitment to recruiting, training and mentoring of staff
