Requirements
  • Hold current Certified Nursing Assistant certification in good standing in New York State.
  • Be dedicated to providing compassionate care to each resident.
  • Be genuinely interested in helping ill, injured, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and sometimes challenging residents.
  • Have patience, a cheerful disposition, and willingness to assist residents and coworkers.
  • Have communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Be able to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Be able to work well under pressure, remain flexible, and work harmoniously with all staff.
Responsibilities
  • Provide assigned residents with routine daily nursing care according to established procedures and supervisors' direction.
  • Document resident care appropriately.
  • Maintain a calm atmosphere throughout the unit and shift.
  • Prepare residents for meals, serve trays, and assist with feeding as indicated.
  • Routinely check residents' personal care and hygiene needs, including giving or assisting with baths.
  • Assist with transporting, lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transferring residents into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, and lifts.
  • Answer resident calls promptly and promptly report changes in residents' conditions.
  • Measure and record temperatures, pulse, blood pressure, and other measurements as instructed.
