Machine Repair Technician
About the job
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills are required.
- A solid understanding of safety practices, housekeeping, and personal protective equipment is required.
- The ability to follow procedures and work independently is required.
- Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical systems, including power distribution, solid-state controllers, press schematics, and safety systems.
- Perform mechanical repairs on gear reducers, bearings, belts, pulleys, sprockets, clutches, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning components.
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems on presses, die cutters, lift tables, pallet trucks, and other production equipment.
- Time, calibrate, and maintain feeders and presses, and respond efficiently to mechanical breakdowns.
- Troubleshoot heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, including burners, motors, blowers, and controls.
- Perform preventive maintenance based on established schedules.
- Estimate repair time, required parts, and costs.
- Move, install, or modify equipment as manufacturing needs change.
- Communicate with teammates and across shifts to ensure smooth handoffs.
- Follow safety, environmental, and quality standards, and stop production when quality issues arise.
- Use the enterprise resource planning system and SPECS quality system to support documentation and compliance.
- Two or more years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Experience with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems is preferred.
