  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a high-growth SaaS or technology company.
  • Proven track record of leading data teams in a startup environment.
  • Expertise in modern data warehouse practices including cloud infrastructure.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Strong understanding of modern software development practices, including Snowflake, cloud infrastructure (AWS), and DevOps.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including product management, software engineering, and DevOps.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to inform decisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment and adapt to change.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive data engineering strategies aligned with BuildOps' growth objectives.
  • Establish data engineering standards, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Build and mentor high-performing data engineering teams.
  • Partner with product and customer success teams to drive data-driven decision making.
  • Lead architectural decisions for data infrastructure and pipelines.
  • Oversee the development of scalable data solutions.
  • Implement modern data technologies to enhance efficiency.
  • Ensure reliable data processing and delivery systems.
  • Define and track key data engineering metrics.
  • Implement continuous improvement processes for data operations.
  • Foster a culture of data-driven innovation.
  • Collaborate with QA teams to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Design and implement comprehensive reporting solutions that provide actionable insights for both internal teams and customers.
  • Develop dashboards and visualization tools to track key business metrics and performance indicators.
