Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least five years of relevant survey, drafting, or computer-aided design experience is required.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and survey drafting software such as Civil 3D is required; MicroStation, InRoads, and TopoDOT experience is advantageous.
  • Basic understanding of survey calculations, principles, terminology, and deliverables is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and accurately produce survey deliverables is required.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment is required.
  • A valid driver's license and active personal automobile liability insurance are required by the first day of employment.
  • Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check before beginning employment.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and draft boundary maps, topographic maps, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, plats, legal descriptions, and associated documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Draft and calculate survey data based on field notes, control, and title information.
  • Interpret and review title reports, legal descriptions, easements, and survey records.
  • Assist with aerial LiDAR and point cloud-based topographic mapping.
  • Support hydrographic surveys and other specialized survey projects as needed.
  • Perform survey calculations and data processing using Trimble Business Center or similar software.
  • Collaborate with surveyors, engineers, and other project team members.
  • Apply independent problem-solving and critical thinking to non-routine survey challenges.
  • Follow written instructions, technical documentation, and quality assurance/quality control standards accurately.
  • Adapt to evolving project requirements and unique survey deliverables.
Desired Qualifications
  • Land Surveyor-in-Training certification is preferred.
  • Experience working with or producing ALTA/NSPS surveys, boundary and topographic mapping, plats, and legal drafting.
  • Familiarity with Esri/GIS tools or aerial data sources, including LiDAR or point cloud workflows.
  • Ability to contribute to drafting standards and quality assurance/quality control processes.
  • Familiarity with MicroStation, InRoads, or TopoDOT.
