About the job

Requirements
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience with a bachelor's degree, at least 2 years of work experience with an advanced degree (such as a master's, MBA, JD, or MD), or 0 years of work experience with a PhD.
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex client or partner integrations for API-based platforms, payment products, financial technology, or similar technology services.
  • Strong working knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, authentication and authorization patterns, webhooks or event-driven integration patterns, API testing tools, and error handling.
  • Ability to read and discuss API specifications, sequence diagrams, system flows, logs, and technical designs with engineers and client architects, and translate them into practical implementation guidance.
  • Experience creating and maintaining technical product documentation, such as implementation guides, API documentation, and service activation guides.
  • Ability to troubleshoot ambiguous technical issues across organizational boundaries, isolate likely causes, communicate during escalations, and coordinate resolution with engineering and operational teams.
  • Product management skills, including requirements definition, prioritization, and continuous improvement based on client feedback and operational evidence.
  • Ability to lead technical workshops and explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to operate in a cross-functional environment involving Product, Engineering, Operations, Compliance, Legal, Risk, Data, Client Services, and regional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple client implementations, documentation deliverables, and product priorities concurrently.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end technical solutioning and implementation journey for clients and partners, from discovery and integration planning through development, testing, service activation, launch, and post-launch stabilization.
  • Partner with client product, engineering, architecture, operations, risk, and compliance teams to understand use cases, technical environments, dependencies, and readiness, and translate these into an implementation approach.
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance on APIs, authentication, data and message flows, environments, error handling, testing, operational processes, and production-readiness considerations.
  • Act as a product-side escalation point for complex client integration issues; structure troubleshooting, coordinate root-cause analysis, engage internal teams, and drive issues to resolution.
  • Own and maintain client enablement materials, including the product implementation guide, service activation guide, and integration checklists.
  • Translate product and engineering designs into implementation content for client developers, solution architects, operations, and program teams.
  • Participate in user acceptance testing as the product lead to ensure delivered features meet acceptance criteria.
  • Gather structured feedback from implementations, identify recurring integration friction, documentation gaps, tooling needs, and product limitations, and convert these insights into prioritized product requirements and roadmap recommendations.
  • Define product requirements and acceptance criteria for capabilities that improve integrability and developer experience, including onboarding workflows, sandbox and testing capabilities, diagnostics, observability, configuration, and self-service tooling.
  • Partner with Engineering and other product managers to assess implementation impacts of new capabilities, ensure integration readiness before release, and align documentation, testing, activation, and support plans.
  • Establish implementation readiness criteria and governance, including dependency tracking, risk and issue management, launch checklists, go/no-go inputs, and handoffs into ongoing operational support.
  • Develop technical training and enablement for client-facing teams and internal stakeholders so they can position the product, support implementations, and identify when specialist engagement is required.
  • Contribute to client solution workshops, product demonstrations, technical deep dives, and architecture reviews, communicating trade-offs, constraints, requirements, and recommended approaches.
  • Monitor implementation outcomes and recurring support themes, and use data and client feedback to improve product quality, documentation effectiveness, implementation efficiency, and developer experience.
  • Prepare executive-ready updates on implementation progress, client risks, product gaps, launch readiness, and opportunities to scale the integration model.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least 6 years of work experience with a bachelor's degree, at least 4 years of relevant experience with an advanced degree, or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD.

  • Experience with payments, money movement, treasury, settlement, digital assets, stablecoins, blockchain infrastructure, wallets, or tokenized money products.
  • Experience with developer portals, OpenAPI specifications, Postman collections, SDKs, sandbox environments, API analytics, observability, or client integration tooling.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment and partnering with compliance, risk, legal, privacy, information security, or financial crime teams.
  • Experience designing scalable implementation methodologies, certification processes, partner onboarding models, or tiered technical support models for global products.
  • Familiarity with agile product development and collaboration tools used for requirements, documentation, issue tracking, and release management.

Banks and other partners issue Visa branded cards and use its technology to build their own payment products. Visa traces its roots to a Bank of America card program launched in 1958 and is headquartered in San Francisco.
