As part of a diverse and hardworking team of Production Support Equipment (PSE) specialists you will develop the next generation of launch and space vehicle manufacturing on Florida’s Space Coast at our Orbital Launch Site Manufacturing Complex. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects Transportation Operations as the groups Supervisor to coordinate all aspects of transporting large equipment, vehicle stages, large flight hardware, and other components requiring critical transport and handling considerations. The work will involve move planning, move execution, team direction, loading/unloading operations, rigging, load monitoring, and process documentation.
The PSE group interfaces directly with vehicle design, production, launch systems, and other test and operational groups. We put a strong emphasis on teamwork, coordination, and service to support all Blue Origin team needs.
Additional responsibilities include:
Coordinate operation of personnel and transportation equipment including Self-Propelled Modular Transporters (SPMTs), Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), large tow tractors and trailers, and other heavy equipment on public and private roads.
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with engineers to plan and execute transportation operations
- Responsible for providing direction to technical personnel and verify that all work is being performed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with quality standards
- Manage, direct, and support assembly, disassembly, and configuration of Modular Trailers and SPMT (Scheuerle, KAMAG) in any configuration required for equipment or component transportation
- Efficiently and safely carry out loading and offloading of large loads. This could include lifting, installing, rigging, and weighing large heavy loads
- Plan and execute transport operation with a safety oriented approach to identify and eliminate potential injuries and accidents
- Create an operational execution schedule identifying resource risks, tooling, equipment and rigging needs, scheduling cranes and operators, and coordinating all transport equipment including rental equipment
- Manage certification and periodic maintenance of lifting tools and associated support equipment.
- Perform pre-mission dry runs to ensure functionality and operational readiness of transportation equipment and personnel
- Plan and manage Material Handling Equipment (MHE) while maintaining OSHA and ASME requirements associated with equipment and rigging
- Operate transport and handling equipment as necessary (heavy transporters, tractor units, MHE)
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies including but not limited to interviewing, hiring, training, planning and directing work

Qualifications:
- 5+ years’ experience planning and managing transport operations of critical flight hardware and oversized loads including personnel management to support all transport operations.
- 5+ years’ experience operating large transport equipment such as SPMTs, large tugs/trailers, and AGVs
- 5+ years’ experience lifting, rigging, and securing large and heavy loads
- Well versed in reading and understand engineering drawings and documentation to ensure that loads, loading methods, load securing, and load transport comply with transport plans
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
