Job Description

The Firmware Engineering Co-op will perform project-oriented work under the direction of firmware development engineers that are focused on developing firmware for implementing features to control variable frequency drives (VFDs).
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Design and develop firmware.
- Product testing and certification.
- Coding activities (C/C++ and/or MATLAB/Simulink).
- Maintain and develop test setups.
- Maintain firmware metrics.
- Document firmware applications and components.
- Research into new technologies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Available to work 9 months, September 2024 through June 2025
- Must hold proof of Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
- Minimum GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree from an accredited college or university.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Available to work 12 months, September 2024 through September 2025
- Must be working towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited college or university.
- Previous internship or co-op experience.
- Experience with C/C++ or MATLAB/Simulink.
- Exposure to oscilloscopes, multimeters and other hardware tools.
- Knowledge of PLC programming and Control Systems.
