THE ROLE
As a Data Analyst at Sofar, you’ll be a data partner with leaders across the business. You’ll build dashboards that provide crucial insights into business performance, create reports and run analyses that uncover stories about where our efforts are having the most impact, and help us understand key levers to unlock future growth.
We have a considerably large pool of data, so you’ll help keep everything clean and digestible, working with engineering to make sure we’re ingesting and structuring data in sustainable ways.
Because the work is critical for our company, we’re looking for someone who truly understands how to use data to influence business strategy. You’ll be a driving force behind our growth and help our team do what we do best – putting on incredible concerts around the world.
What you’ll do:
- You’ll build dashboards that give key department leaders insight into business performance and levers we can pull to drive growth
- You’ll run analyses and tell actionable stories with data, extracting key points and sharing complex learnings in easy-to-digest ways
- You’ll partner with folks across the business to help us better understand supply and demand, providing insight into the relationship between inventory, sales projections, user retention.
- You’ll expose the interaction between marketing channels and traffic sources, including but not limited to email, search, social media, and bespoke local city promotional efforts
- You’ll help publish data in easy to consume, understandable ways that allow stakeholders to self-service some of their data needs.
- You’ll be a champion of our analytic abilities, while ensuring accurate and ethical use of data.
Who you are:
- You have 4+ years of experience as an in-house Analyst (across Data, Growth, Business Intelligence, Marketing, etc.) at a high growth e-commerce B2C company
- You know how to effectively collaborate with teams and stakeholders to determine best approaches to measurement
- You have a track record of generating plausible hypotheses on business drivers and validating them with data
- You have strong knowledge of SQL – bonus points for Redshift, BigQuery, or Postgres, and analytics-focused platforms like Jupyter or R-Studio
- You have experience with Metabase, Looker, PowerBI, or other common data visualization tools
- You understand supply and demand modeling and forecasting
- You are eligible for employment in the US, preferably within 2 hours of the East Coast time zone
- Most importantly: you have a passion for growth, are naturally curious, and know how to get things done!
