Requirements
  • A Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited medical school or a terminal degree in a related field is required; an academic institution letter certifying completion of all student work is accepted for Postdoctoral Fellow 0.
  • Postdoctoral Fellow 0 requires no postdoctoral experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of biomedical research is required.
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English sufficient to perform the essential job functions is required.
  • The ability to safely perform assigned duties and meet ongoing skills and competency assessments is required.
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate workplace flexibility and adaptability is required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform basic research duties under the supervision or direction of a physician or Principal Investigator.
  • Assist the physician in maintaining the functionality and operations of the Principal Investigator’s laboratory.
  • Develop research methods and perform research activities.
  • Document research results and write reports for presentation or publication in professional journals and other publications.
  • Collaborate with department members by communicating and reporting data comprehensively.
  • Assist with department-based safety initiatives, standards of practice, and protocols.
  • Identify corrective-action and process-improvement opportunities and contribute to quality and safety targets.
  • Participate in research activities, evidence-based practice projects, and departmental projects.
  • Manage time and prioritize daily tasks and resources efficiently.
  • Maintain current knowledge of professional issues and clinical skills and complete the required development plan.
Desired Qualifications
  • The position may involve laboratory-based work or computer work supporting the department’s research mission.
  • Experience beyond the Postdoctoral Fellow 0 level is applicable to higher fellow grades: one year for level 1, two years for level 2, three years for level 3, and four years for level 4.
