About the company

Alpin Haus is a regional outdoor recreation retailer with seven locations in New York and New Jersey. It offers equipment and gear for family adventures, including RVs, boats, pools, hot tubs, patio furniture, ski and snowboard gear, and snowmobiles, and serves as a destination where customers can shop for gear and plan activities. Its products work by being sold or rented to enable outdoor experiences for families and adventurers; the company provides a one-stop source for buying, renting, and outfitting for activities like boating, camping, swimming, and winter sports. The company differentiates itself through its broad, hands-on catalog across multiple locations and its focus on helping customers create lasting memories, not just selling gear, by emphasizing fun, connection, and shared experiences. The goal is to help families and adventurers build unforgettable experiences outdoors, supported by accessible local stores, services, and a wide range of equipment.

What critics are saying

  • Amazon, specialty chains, and dealer consolidation can compress margins and erode family-shop loyalty.

  • Its August 2024 Latham acquisition deepens Capital Region coverage without losing local brand equity.
