What believers are saying

  • One office role keeps Friday afternoons free: the Nashville administrative schedule ends before noon.
  • Interns learn directly from practitioners: its Chamblee civil-design internship offers mentorship from experienced engineers and designers.
  • An organized volunteer program supports community involvement: T&H Helping Hands connects employees with nonprofit service projects.

What critics are saying

  • Internship applicants need existing work authorization: the advertised Chamblee placement does not provide sponsorship.
  • Survey fieldwork is physically demanding: its Durham instrument-operator role requires varied-terrain walking and lifting up to 75 pounds.
  • Field schedules extend when needed: the same survey role starts at 6:30 a.m. and requires willingness to work overtime.

What makes Thomas & Hutton unique

  • Ownership stays with employees: its current recruiting materials describe Thomas & Hutton as a private employee-owned firm.
  • Its GIS team built a mapping platform: Latapult centralizes parcel, environmental, demographic, geospatial, and topographic information.
  • Engineering extends into funding support: the firm prepares technical reports for grant applications and tracks post-award compliance.
