About the job
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Ability to understand and follow English instructions.
- Ability to use and read micrometers and calipers.
- Competence in basic computer skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for long periods and bend, squat, stoop, twist, and kneel.
- Ability to use hand tools.
- Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Read blueprints and specifications.
- Dimensionally inspect, test, and measure materials or products being produced.
- Measure products using rulers, calipers, gauges, micrometers, tape measures, and Pi tapes.
- Accept or reject finished products and raw-material items.
- Remove products and materials that fail to meet specifications.
- Discuss inspection results with the department supervisor, area leader, and department engineer.
- Report inspection and test data as needed and enter it into the nonconformance log database.
- Follow work instructions for final-inspection criteria and nonconforming products.
- Print material certifications for customer orders as required.
- Prepare necessary shipment paperwork.
- Package orders for customer shipments as required.
- Perform receiving inspections of supplier components using measuring instruments, prints, specifications, and quality documents.
- Qualify for positive material identification inspection and print positive material identification reports.
- Perform additional training duties as requested.
- Cross-train across company departments based on business needs.
- Use the RFA process to offer ideas and solutions with involvement from the plant management team.
