Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience creating tests and test software to verify system operation and security.
  • At least 2 years of test case automation experience and experience with Selenium.
  • Experience writing and executing test cases, scripts, and procedures for new and previously released functionality.
  • Knowledge of smoke, manual, functional, automated, accessibility, system, performance, interoperability, regression, negative, security, and user acceptance testing methods.
  • Experience with 508 compliance tools, database testing, REST API testing, and mobile application testing.
  • Experience with automation testing using Selenium, Katalon, and other codeless automation tools.
  • Familiarity with Jenkins, Maven, Nexus Repository, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub, Ansible or Puppet, Fortify, SonarQube, and PMD.
  • Familiarity with functional testing using Job Control Language jobs to validate batch systems and Customer Information Control System screens to manually test online transactions.
  • Experience coding with Ruby, JavaScript, or Java.
  • Experience with Agile Lifecycle Management tools, Atlassian Jira, XRAY, GitHub, Selenium, Appium, and Salesforce.
  • Experience with IT products, operating systems, software, hardware, systems, networks, and specialized environments such as AWS or Azure.
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or another engineering or technical discipline is required; eight years of experience may substitute for education.
  • Ability to obtain a government security clearance.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a remote setting.
  • Strong interpersonal, client-facing, oral, and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Perform project test activities in a test-driven development environment.
  • Define test parameters and data, design tests, interpret test results, and analyze test trends.
  • Review, define, and write acceptance criteria for user stories, ensuring each is testable.
  • Link test cases in the supplied tool suite with user stories and test results.
  • Work with developers and web designers to create test scenarios and test data.
  • Work with the team to make each increment of functionality ready for release.
  • Document testing activities using best practices to maintain traceability in Jira or similar tools.
  • Interface with project stakeholders, including end users, business organizations, Department of Veterans Affairs organizations, vendors, and service partners.
  • Work with developers, end users, and organizations to create test plans and test scripts.
  • Coordinate with the test lead to plan test events.
  • Track problems and report identified errors.
  • Manage the defect database.
  • Set up test environments accurately, create test reports, and test IT hardware, software, systems, and networks.
