About the Role

We're a small group of engineers, designers, and product folks building at the intersection of conversational AI and domain expertise. Making an AI agent sound human-like is hard. Making an AI an expert in a domain is also hard. We're doing both together. Our product is Vaya - an AI-powered Vedic astrology app used by millions.

The Research team owns two outcomes - First: becoming the company's authority on Vedic astrology. Second: breaking down real astrologer mechanics into fundamentals that our engineers can build digital personas on. Write benchmarks for the digital personas.

What you’ll do

• Build domain authority and write documents on astrology concepts that will help engineers ship your findings

• Breakdown astrologer personas into clear metrics - traits, modus operandi and vocabulary. Map to our AI agents

• Source & vet SME’s, modern and traditional astrological authorities and texts

• Network and engage and modern practitioners

• Design and conduct case studies and experiments with practitioners

• Create benchmarks for metrics to evaluate persona performance

• Discover new concepts and refine understanding of existing until all questions are answered
  

What we look for

• Ability to write documents that convey the message without any fluff

• First principles thinking to break down obscure and layered concepts clearly with logic at each step

• Published papers, articles showcasing your findings and depth of understanding in a domain

• Proven proficiency at extracting information from conversational transcripts, incoherent textbooks or within non falsifiable domains

• 3+ years in a research role at a startup or as a domain research consultant

Interview Procedure

Intro call: 15 minutes to get to know you, after that any questions you might have to get to know us better.

Process includes a call with a team member to -

1. Assess your fit from a culture perspective

2. Give you time to ask questions

Assignment: Candidates shortlisted after the initial call are given a take home assignment to be submitted in 48 hours.

Final Round: Process includes a call with the CEO to -

1. Discuss your approach in solving the assignment

2. Assess your fit from a technical perspective

3. Discuss past roles and responsibilities

How We Work
We care about craft obsessively. Your work gets questioned, pulled apart, and rebuilt — not because we're harsh, but because everyone here holds each other to a standard most places don't bother with. We work out of a hacker house in Vasant Kunj. We strongly encourage everyone to be in office.
