Ticketek reshapes leadership team, appoints Cameron Curtis in marketing and data role. August 21, 2026 11:04 Karen Chapple and Cameron Curtis have taken on new senior leadership roles at Ticketek Entertainment Group Ticketek Entertainment Group (TEG) has reshaped its leadership team, promoting Karen Chapple to chief customer and product officer and appointing former News Corp Australia executive Cameron Curtis to a newly created marketing and data solutions role. Reporting to chief executive Cameron Hoy, Chapple's expanded remit brings TEG's marketing, media, intelligence, research and product operations into one line. Curtis will report directly to Chapple, joining in the newly created role of general manager, marketing and data solutions. TEG is the parent company of Ticketek and a major live entertainment business, operating across ticketing, event promotion and production. Its portfolio includes TEG Live, TEG Sport, TEG Experiences and Ovation, alongside Ticketek, which sells tickets to concerts, sporting fixtures and other live events. Chapple has held several leadership positions across two stints at TEG, spanning marketing, media, digital experience and commercial partnerships. She previously led national sales at Junkee Media and later held senior roles at Oracle, overseeing go-to-market strategy across Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Curtis brings more than 28 years of experience across the media and technology sectors to his role, having most recently served as News Corp Australia's GM of strategic advocacy and community impact programs. Before joining News Corp, he was co-founder and commercial director of digital publisher Allure Media, and has held senior commercial roles at Nine, ACP Magazines and Fairfax Media, and later led the Australian operations of ad measurement company Beatgrid. In the official announcement, Chapple said the live entertainment industry is "one of the most dynamic and emotionally connected" sectors in the world. "I'm excited to lead an organisation that brings together customer, product and intelligence to create greater value across the live entertainment spectrum," she said. "Cameron's appointment is a great example of that in action. Our audience and data capabilities can give partners a genuine edge, and this role supports them in unlocking that value. Cameron brings a winning combination of commercial and data expertise to lead it." Curtis said he was "thrilled" to be joining Chapple to shape the next chapter for TEG. "Live experiences are more important than they have ever been. TEG's audience and data assets are second to none. I'm thrilled to join Karen Chapple and the TEG team in helping our partners drive better experiences and enhanced commercial value," he said. Zac Nikolovski is a reporter for Mumbrella. Ticketek Entertainment Group raises A$100m from its lenders - report. Ticketek parent company Ticketek Entertainment Group (TEG) has reportedly raised A$100m (£52m/€61m/$70.5m) from its lenders to target its rivals, following the loss of key ticketing contracts. According to a report from the Australian Financial Review, citing those with knowledge of the talks, month-long discussions with TEG's lenders led to the boost which has also been described as Ticketek's "one final chance". However its majority owner, private equity giant Silver Lake, did not provide any further funding. TEG's banks, which were already owed around A$1bn according to the report, chipped in roughly A$100m so that new chief executive Cameron Hoy could bid for upcoming contracts. The report added that Silver Lake was involved in the capital-raising talks, despite not contributing, and it is expected that the fresh debt will grant lenders additional rights. Silver Lake secured a majority stake in TEG nearly seven years ago. A TEG spokesperson told the publication that it had "raised additional financing from existing investors". "This will strengthen our balance sheet and allow us to invest further in delivering a massive pipeline of live entertainment, driving growth across the business, and continuing to invest in technology for our partners and fans." TheTicketingBusiness has reached out to TEG for comment. As Australia's largest ticketing provider, Ticketek has partnerships in place with the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium and Sydney's newly renamed Afterpay Arena. However, last year, Ticketek lost its ticketing contract with Venues NSW to Ticketmaster, which included Sydney Cricket Ground, Accor Stadium, CommBank Stadium, Allianz Stadium and Penrith Stadium. The contract for Melbourne Parks, which included events at Rod Laver Arena, AAMI Park, John Cain Arena and Margaret Court Arena, was then won by AXS in April. Sydney's Hordern Pavilion also made the switch to AXS last month. Internationally, its UK business is facing the possibility of losing the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham contract after bosses invited Expressions of Interest from ticketing providers, ahead of a forthcoming ticketing services tender. Ticketek had first signed a deal with the venue in February 2023. In June, following the exit of Brad Banducci and the appointment of Hoy as CEO, it was also reported that TEG would undergo a restructuring and cost-cutting project. According to AFR, TEG had roughly $950m in borrowings as of June 30 last year, including a primary and fully drawn $940m loan and a mostly drawn $110m line of credit. Its bank loans were interest-bearing and would mature in December 2030, according to accounts, while the line of credit would mature in 2028.
TEG, the parent company of Ticketek, has secured $100 million in funding from its lenders to strengthen its position against competitors like Ticketmaster. The funding comes as super senior debt following intensive negotiations between the company's American private equity backers and banking institutions. The capital raise follows TEG's recent loss of several critical contracts with government ticketing agencies. Alongside the funding, TEG has appointed a new chief executive as part of efforts to revitalise the company. The additional resources are intended to help TEG stabilise operations, enhance innovation capabilities, and pursue aggressive competitive tactics. The move comes as the company faces an increasingly challenging ticketing industry dominated by large players like Live Nation-owned Ticketmaster.
