About the job
- A completed degree and several years of experience in a leading people or human resources role, strategically and operationally, ideally in a startup or scale-up environment.
- Experience building and leading a recruiting team and understanding how organizations grow sustainably.
- A proven track record of developing a proactive recruiting strategy that does not rely primarily on incoming applications and hiring technology talent across multiple locations.
- Ability to work in a structured, data-driven manner and implement strategic and complex topics pragmatically.
- Ability to communicate clearly and reliably with teams and executive leadership, challenge experienced stakeholders, and maintain hiring quality standards under pressure to hire quickly.
- Precise, fluent spoken and written German and English.

- Translate freiheit.com’s growth goals into a recruiting strategy, develop a plan, and implement it successfully.
- Build the recruiting team, develop structures, and design processes to find hundreds of highly qualified members annually without sacrificing speed or quality.
- Set direction for the team, develop its members to perform at a high level, and train interviewers to make consistent hiring decisions.
- Build a proactive, outbound-oriented recruiting strategy for the Hamburg and Lisbon locations, including a qualified talent pipeline for software engineers.
- Work closely with the People teams to evaluate hiring outcomes, including performance, probation periods, and retention, and use the findings to improve future selection.
- Use recruiting data to improve pipeline quality, conversion rates, time-to-hire, and candidate-source effectiveness, and present the data so executive leadership can make decisions.
- Ensure every candidate experiences a fair, respectful, and professional process.
- Experience in a leading people or human resources role in a startup or scale-up environment is preferred.
