Requirements
  • A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required.
  • TIPS or CARE beverage service certification is desired; candidates without it must be able to obtain certification.
  • At least one year of previous guest service experience is required.
  • Demonstrated exemplary customer service, attention to detail, and ability to perform repetitive duties in a fast-paced environment are required.
  • Ability to speak, understand, and write English to meet guests' needs is required.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly throughout the shift is required.
  • Ability to walk, stand, carry, and lift continuously throughout the shift is required.
Responsibilities
  • Assist banquet staff in setting, clearing, and resetting tables efficiently and courteously.
  • Follow health regulations, stock necessary supplies, and perform basic cleaning duties.
  • Anticipate and respond to guests in a friendly, positive, and timely manner; provide high-quality service and establish appropriate rapport with guests.
  • Follow the guest service recovery program, suggest ideas, and respond to feedback to maximize guest satisfaction scores.
  • Listen attentively, take orders accurately, and use proper serving techniques.
  • Know specials and promotions and actively upsell menu items to maximize revenue potential.
  • Follow health regulations and local liquor laws, as well as Holiday Inn cash-handling and point-of-sale procedures.
  • Complete side work, including cleaning the restaurant, server stations, coffee stations, and coolers; vacuuming; removing trash; and stocking supplies.
  • Follow procedures for handling cash and processing financial transactions; use equipment properly and follow cost controls to reduce expenses and waste.
  • Serve food and beverages and maintain a clean, safe work area in accordance with company and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Follow procedures for guest and associate incidents and know hotel emergency procedures.
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize duties to produce the required volume of work; follow attendance policy, grooming and appearance standards, work rules, and department procedures; attend required department and hotel meetings.
  • Take room service orders, assist the bartender, collaborate to meet guest needs, contribute to other departments when necessary, and complete assigned duties within or outside the usual scope of responsibilities.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least one year of previous serving experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment is preferred.
  • At least one year of prior bussing experience in a fast-paced environment is preferred.
