- No prior experience is required.
- The candidate must hold Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider certification from the American Heart Association.
- For work in Illinois, the candidate must hold a Licensed Practical Nurse license issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
- For work in Missouri, Oklahoma, or Wisconsin, the candidate must hold a Licensed Practical Nurse license issued by a compact state.
- The role requires constant standing and walking, frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, sitting, reaching, keyboard use, data entry, visual and auditory perception, and occasional patient lifting or movement.
- Contribute to patient assessment and ensure patient well-being.
- Administer medications and observe patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments.
- Perform laboratory tests and therapeutic services.
- Educate patients and families about disease treatment plans, self-care after discharge, holistic health needs, available resources, and follow-up care.
- Document the provider's patient encounter when needed, including diagnoses, symptoms, discharge and follow-up instructions, and prescriptions as directed by the provider.
- Transcribe provider orders for laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications when needed, and complete patient charts by transcribing laboratory, X-ray, and other evaluation results.
- Continuously check the availability and progress of order data to ensure the patient's workup is complete for provider treatment decisions.
- Transcribe consultations or discussions with family members, the patient's private physician, or the on-call physician when needed.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Perform other assigned duties.
- Medical knowledge is preferred.
