Requirements
  • The applicant must be at least 16 years old.
  • The applicant must have strong knowledge of, or the ability to learn, sport rules and regulations.
  • The applicant must be available to work weeknights and weekends.
  • The applicant must pass a background check.
  • The applicant must be able to stand, walk, jog, run, sit, use their hands, handle, feel, speak, hear, climb stairs, push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Officiate assigned sports, including youth volleyball and other youth athletic events and tournaments.
  • Attend sport-specific training and meetings.
  • Make calls and instruct players on the rules of the game.
  • Communicate with coaches and participants.
  • Maintain a safe and positive playing environment.
  • Concentrate and communicate clearly in situations with multiple distractions.
  • Inspect sporting equipment and examine participants to ensure compliance with event and safety regulations.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, department personnel, and the public, dealing with them courteously and tactfully.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous related sport experience.
