A four-year engineering degree or an equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience.
A minimum of five years of construction engineering or similar experience, preferably in a supervisory capacity.
Working knowledge of various construction disciplines, union agreements and jurisdiction, cost control, scheduling, safety regulations, engineering drawings, and other required documents.
Ability to supervise and evaluate craft performance.
Responsibilities
Supervise craft workers assigned to the area of responsibility and provide liaison between field engineering and crafts to ensure construction complies with drawings and specifications.
Assist in planning work schedules and determining manpower levels, material quantities, and equipment requirements.
Monitor craft work performance and productivity to ensure project rules, procedures, safety requirements, and other requirements are maintained.
Complete craft timecards to accurately reflect hours worked.
Advise senior-level superintendents and/or project management of potential problems, work interference, and schedule difficulties; assist in circumventing or resolving such problems as required.
Maintain liaison with other departments, including Purchasing and Engineering, as required to support the construction schedule.
Perform additional assignments as directed by the supervisor.
